Nick is a passionate life-long learner with experience teaching fundamentals of computer science, mentoring students for college preparation, and tutoring with personalized machine learning projects. He is available for Machine Learning and Computer Science (beginner to advanced), as well as Math topics (i.e. Pre-Calculus, Algebra, and Calculus 1 & 2, Geometry, Logic, and Linear Algebra). Nick especially enjoys mentoring teens and tweens through their individualized projects.
Jeff is experienced in helping students write and speak persuasively about their passions, from science to the arts. He taught college writing and library research at the University of Texas at Austin for 6 years, with a special focus in project-based learning. He has a background in qualitative research, international relations, and arts criticism. Jeff has mentored many students through semester-length, self-directed research projects, culminating in essays, research papers, plays, and more. Outside his doctoral research on race, performance, and migration, Jeff performs with Gamelan Sekar Jaya, a Balinese dance and music ensemble in South Berkeley.
Elise Taylor has been teaching for over 18 years. She has been a private tutor for students of all ages and also homeschools her two daughters. Elise is passionate about interest led learning and loves to incorporate games into her teachings. She believes that children learn their best when they are engaged and having fun. She is very active in the gifted/2e community and is constantly researching the latest curriculum, games, and learning opportunities for her gifted learners.
Kiera has a bachelors of science degree in Chemistry with double minors in Mathematics and Physics from Union University in Jackson, TN. She then went on to obtain her doctorate in Chemistry with a concentration in Theoretical Electrochemistry from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. She has taught, tutored and mentored elementary, middle, high school and college students while homeschooling her own highly creative children.
